Cloudmakers astroimager3/2/2023 ![]() I felt comfortable enough with it that I bought a Stellarmate to use with it, which I'll still control through the native interface on my Mac inside the house. I had one session where it got cloudy for about an hour, and it required the star 5 times during that session and continued on throughout the night after the clouds cleared. One of the latest additions was the ability to re-aquire a guide star after clouds start rolling in. Updates seem to be coming out once every few weeks at a steady click. I feel like it's a lot more straight forward than SGP. ![]() There's a group of people regularly contributing to it now, and it does plate solving, framing, mosaics, etc. (I went with QHY since I prefer to buy Taiwan-made products instead of from China. Especially now that TSX has live stacking. Its a fairly easy to use program and inexpensive 19. If I could get my QHY cameras and EFW (which is a ZWO mini-EFW) to work via TSX on the Mac I'd be all set and could capture only with TSX thus eliminating the need for SharpCap. I had to find something different because Nebulosity kept crashing whenever I tried to use a ZWO camera (Uh huh.Maybe, but its a brand new MACbook Pro and I dont have any issues with any other programs). Yeah, so EKOS has really come into it's own lately. AstroImager by Cloudmakers - posted in Beginning Deep Sky Imaging: Just started using this on my Mac and I have to say I am very pleased. I am glad to see Mac-based imaging isn't as hard as it was a few years ago. ![]() I have searched around for an INDI version that does all of this but I haven't found anything as easy as SGP. Its purpose is to control main imaging camera, filter wheel and focuser. Now that I have been spoiled by plate solving/framing/mosaic wizard, it'd be hard to give that up. AstroImager is a front end for imaging and auxiliary devices INDIGO agents. At the time there wasn't much so I went Bootcamp/SGP. Sequences of images can be saved in various video formats including SER as well.ĪstroImager is a member of our astrophotography tools family including AstroDSLR, AstroTelescope, AstroGuider, FITS Preview, INDIGO Server for OS X, INDIGO Control Panel, INDIGO Dashboard and Astrometry for OS X.I had been looking for a Mac solution for AP. Images are stored in FITS format with user defined keywords and can be debayered during preview. It can preview or capture and save images with any count, duration and time lapse, browse captured images, zoom and stretch them automatically or manually, measure FWHM, HFD and the drift of a selected star and plate-solve image using public or local service.ĪstroImager has simple sequencer to capture sequences of images with configurable duration, time lapse, count, base file name, binning and filter. Baader Planetarium SteelDrive II focuser,īut it can be used as a client to any remote or local INDIGO or INDI server with any supported cameras, filter wheel or focuser as well.ĪstroImager also controls the set point cooling and the mechanical shutter of the attached camera (if available). PegasusAstro DMFC and FocusCube focuser, Meade DSI cameras (experimental code only), QHY cameras (QHY SDK 1.1.0, experimental code only), QSI 5xx/6xx cameras (QSI API 7.2, experimental code only), We would like to make Linux, macOS and iOS first class platforms for astronomy and astrophotography. USB or firewire IIDC compatible cameras (including AtikGP), Moravian Instruments cameras and filter wheels, ZWO ASI USB 3.0 cameras (ASI SDK 2) and EFW filter wheels, Starlight Xpress cameras (all USB 2.0 cameras) and filter wheels, Specific purpose of AstroImager is to control main imaging camera, filter wheel and focuser, to allow proper framing, focusing and capturing from single batch. Atik CCD driver (Titan, 3xx/4xx/One/16200, VS/Infinity, 11000/4000, Horizon) and EFW2/3 filter wheels, In this version the built-in INDIGO drivers support the following hardware: AstroImager, AstroTelescope, AstroGuider, INDI Control Panel, iINDI, KStars, XEphem PixInsight or CdC). ![]() It was developed as a supporting module for jINDI cross platform observatory control software, but can be used with any other INDI client running on the same or a remote machine (e.g. Its purpose is to control main imaging camera, filter wheel and focuser, to allow proper framing, focusing and capturing from a single batch of images to quite complicated series of images with different parameters and settings. AstroImager is a powerful, but easy to use image capture application for the astrophotography. INDI Server for Windows (retired) INDI Server for Windows is a wrapper and INDI server for ASCOM drivers.
